Candle Holder

Made from a reclaimed 3x12 timber beam, this candle holder brings rustic to a modern age. The wood is first ripped & cut to size. I chop away at the edges & corners with an axe to 'sculpt' a random weathered shape. The whole piece is sanded with a belt sander at 60 grit to get rid of splinters & other maker imperfections. It's then sanded with 80g, 120g, & 150g with the belt sander. Once I'm happy with that, I sand from 80grit (then 100g, 150g, 220g) to 320 grit with an orbital palm sander. The piece is then torched & lightly sanded again. Holes get marked & drilled, & the top & ends are sanded again to get rid of the burnt finish. Stain is then applied, & the piece is again lightly sanded. I then clean up the piece & finish with a glossy lacquer, which helps the smooth rounded edges reflect light beautifully. This piece holds 1 tea light & 2 glass candles(2) (included). 2 pots from your local nursery can also fit the 2 holes. Candle Holder
