Starfish Beaded Wall Hanging, Peyote Stitch

Mother Nature creates so many wonders! While browsing through a seaside shop I admired their display of starfish & immediately knew I wanted to create a beaded version so you can bring the beach into your home with this dainty wall hanging. The beaded portion measures approximately 3 (7.6 cm across) & 3.3 (8.5 cm) tall, not including the leather hanging strap. For a bit of whimsy, there are 2 copper fish swimming along the leather cord. More than 4,00 Miyuki Delica beads in 5 colors were woven by hand (without a loom), using a technique called 2-drop peyote stitch. The background color is more accurately represented in the photos taken with the sand background (it looks darker in the photos taken with the blue background).
