The Gather Dining Table Square Walnut by Magnus Long is designed for everyday use, combining straightforward construction and robust detailing. The design of the table is based on the simple act of bringing people together and is defined by an exposed through-tenon joint - a detail that is structural as much as it is visual. The wider Gather Collection comprises dining tables and a bench in solid oak and walnut. The tables are available in round, square and rectangular formats with a wide range of size options to suit small kitchens, or larger dining rooms. Designer: Magnus Long is a British industrial designer based in London, working within furniture, product and lighting design. A celebrated name in British design, Long was awarded a Design Guild Mark Award in 2015 for his Cross Leg Lounge Chair. Materials & Finishes: The Gather Dining Table Square Walnut is made from solid American Walnut with galvanised steel reinforcement bars. Each table is offered with a choice of either an oiled or lacquered finish, with black resin-filled or natural (open) knots. Gather uses timber that is often overlooked by the industry for not being perfectly straight or for containing knots and cracks. Left exposed rather than disguised, these markings vary from piece to piece, giving each table and bench its own grain, colour and character making each piece truly distinctive.
