For many Czechs this delicious fish is still a cultural staple, & those (like me) who grew up in traditional Czech homes would even witness them swimming around in large tubs (or even bathtubs) come Christmas time, & were gifted a 'lucky' fish scale to cherish during the holiday season & straight into the new year to bring abundance & good luck ???? Each little stoneware fish is hand-built using a speckled clay, hand-glazed in a shiny white glaze, & then finally gilded with real 14k gold luster before being kiln-fired for the third & final time.
