To celebrate International Women's Day, I've compiled a list of amazing female founded UK furniture businesses to watch. This incredible list features some of the most innovative prominent female entrepreneurs that my business gets the pleasure of working with everyday. I propose a toast to these brilliant women and all female entrepreneurs out there creating businesses.

1. Eva Sonaike

Eva Sonaike is a London-based interior company specialising in luxury home textiles, soft furnishings, and interior design solutions with a vibrant, elegant West-African aesthetic.

The company’s ethos 'Bringing Colour to Life' is reflected in its signature collections of cushions, rugs, furnishings, lamps, wallpapers, and interior textiles designed by its Creative Director and Founder Eva Sonaike.

2. French Bedroom

French Bedroom was founded in 2006 by Georgia Metcalfe, an interiors guru with an interior design and styling background. French Bedroom has carefully hand-selected a range of luxurious, stylish and ornate pieces of French furniture.

8. Piglet in Bed

Born in, and inspired by the joys of rural Britain, Piglet in Bed founded in 2017 by Jessica Hanley, makes products with longevity in mind. They are founded on the conviction that genuine quality should be with us forever; the best things in life are those that get better with love and time, that become infused with our own stories and memories. Nature is a wonderful provider; of materials that are cosy and soft, but durable too.

9. OKA

OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades - What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well.

10. Industville

Industville, founded by Mara Miller is an internationally recognised company, specialising in the manufacture and supply of handcrafted, high-quality industrial-style lights and furniture. They pride themselves on offering high-quality, design led products, available in large numbers without the high cost and time constraints of searching for originals.
