Designed by Sebastian Herkner for Ligne Roset, the Lewa Low Table combines a solid ash tabletop with a sculpted ceramic tray in monochromatic black. Herkner based his design on the basalt columns that are formed when lava cools after becoming captivated by their strange hexagonal shapes. The Lewa assumes the same form, with a satin varnished surface and a moulded ceramic tray. With edges high enough to hold water and decorative flowers, you can even use the table to create a mini Japanese zen bowl.
