Antique Mahogany Queen Anne Writing Desk Black Accents

This antique mahogany Queen Anne writing desk/dressing table was looking a tired, worn & outdated. I chose to create a brand new minimalist design. The first job was to sand the piece right back, revealing the beautiful, raw mahogany. I found the natural wood striking & decided to keep the drawers raw as a stunning feature. To enhance & highlight the lovely detail I created my own shellac stain, using Garnet Shellac Flakes & denatured alcohol. I used 3 coats of this before applying Liberum Black Furniture Wax to seal & perfect the finish, really bringing out the beauty in the natural grain of the wood. For the rest of the piece I used two coats of All in One Black Silk Mineral Paint, (in my opinion the best furniture paint on the market). This was a stunning contrast to the raw mahogany, accompanied with bespoke matt black hardware to complete the piece & add a modern twist. A true timeless revival. This solid piece of furniture is in excellent condition, however as with all preloved furniture please expect some age related imperfections which only add to its individual charm. - I can deliver or can arrange for a courier to deliver to your door, please contact me for a more specific quote, alternatively customers can collect if preferered. - All items are bubble wrapped for protection during transportation.
