Add a splash of color to your home or office with this felted wool planter. This colorful planter has a fun textural element - it is made of wool - but is still functional due to the galvanized steel liner that will allow you to water the plant while it is in the planter. I used wool yarn to make this planter, by first knitting a loose bowl shape, then wet-felting the wool to snugly fit around the liner. Included is a galvanized steel plant pot without drainage holes - so your felted wool planter won't get wet (It's in the last photo). The pot is from Ikea, & is 4 inches high on the inside. It will hold a potted plant in a 4 inch plastic pot, which is a common size sold at your local plant nursery or home improvement store. Measurements - 4.5 inches tall (inner height is 4 inches), 4.25 inches inner diameter at the top of the planter. If the wool does get wet or dirty, simply remove the felted wool, rinse the wool in cool water, then shape it around the plant pot & allow to dry on a windowsill or other sunny location. This would make a thoughtful & unique gift for the green-thumbed person in your life.
