This bulbous wine barrel coffee table was originally an oak barrique filled with French wine. The wine was stored in the barrel for around three to five years, then it found its way to our barrel forge. The high quality & robustness of the wood remain in the product, as do fine natural red wine stains, scratches & the subtle smell of red wine (not noticeable in the room for long), which make up the charm of the piece of furniture. During processing, the individual barrel staves are carefully clamped together so that the barrel retains its shape. However, gaps may still form between the individual staves as the wood moves. The metal barrel rings, like the wood, are sanded down & deburred before further processing, so there is no risk of injury. The wine barrel coffee table ends with an oak wooden top that offers a large storage area. We close the bunghole from which the wine is drained with a wooden stopper & some fabric. The removable table top variant includes a hole in the lid through which the top can be removed from the table.
