Wine Barrel Coffee Table With Wooden Lid Oiled

Our oak barrels were used to store red wine. When the wood no longer imparts any flavor to the wine, the barrels are used up. We give them a second use & rework them into this stylish coffee table. Typical features such as red wine stains, subtle scratches & dents give the table its special character & are therefore deliberately retained by us. If you remove the oak lid, you will notice not only the amount of space but also the red-colored wood (sometimes with tartar), which gives off a slight red wine smell. However, this disappears after a few days, so you don't have to worry about an unpleasant smell developing. in our barrel forge, the used wine barrels are carefully refurbished for coffee tables. The wood & rings are sanded down so that coarse impurities & splinters disappear. The barrel staves are clamped together & the rings are screwed onto the barrel. However, small gaps can still form between the staves. This is due to the natural changes in the wood that it undergoes over time. The oak lid is removable & opens the coffee table to store all kinds of things. Finally, we oil the barrel with a food-safe & neutral wood oil. This makes it a little less susceptible to moisture & can be wiped off more easily before liquids from glass edges etc. cause damage to the wood.
