Hand made soap dishes made from oak whiskey barrels reclaimed from the Old Bushmills Distillery. Oak is an ideal wood for a soap dish because it so good at handling water. Its natural tannins hurry to the wood's surface when it comes into contact with water. This clever process means the wood protects itself against water & will therefore last for years. This will mean that your soap dish will naturally darken over time. But that adds to its beauty, that's what it does in the barrel & the whiskey is all the better for it. The dish has been hand waxed before dispatch. Please wash any soap residue from your soap dish regularly. Every few weeks clean it & allow to dry before oiling it. Danish oil, Linseed Oil, Olive oil or mineral oil are all good options. All our products are handmade from natural materials, therefore, colours & sizes may vary slightly to those described.
