It is suitable for wet areas as well as for spaces where you want add marinal touch to your design. Suitable for outdoor use. This wall light is crafted hand made from brass casting & cast glass. The primary finish is typically 'brass,' while other finishes are achieved through a coating process on brass. Our nautical sconces are designed to be versatile, & they can indeed be installed by either wiring through the threaded nut from the end or mounting to a typical electrical box from the rear. If you prefer the rear mounting option, you can achieve this by drilling a hole from the back (Of course, you may request this from our end for your convenience). Alternatively, if you choose the threaded nut approach, the wire connector is a standard feature in our nautical fixtures, facilitating the electrical connections (where the wire is exposed). When ordered in raw brass, the sconces come unvarnished. The surface is left natural & will react with air, moisture, & touch, so the finish will change over time, developing a unique patina that may look uneven at first but will gradually evolve into a aged look. If you prefer to keep the original appearance, we can seal the brass by varnishing upon request. All other finishes (such as antique brass, antique copper, or satin nickel) are varnished & will keep their appearance without further change.
