ITEM DETAILS: Handcrafted Wooden Storage Bench with Lift-up Hinged Seating for Easy Storage (no table). These corner banquette seats are a beautiful & practical addition to your garden, summer house, or indoor area to create a robust seating area with a rustic-chic style. With Christmas around the corner, why not think about adding in a bench or two to your exisiting dinner table & seat as many guests as you need? The addition of the hinged seating means that you have space to store accessories, tools, toys, cushions etc. away & out of sight whilst not taking up any more of your precious space with further bulky items. These benches have straight backrests however we can also make benches with no backrests at all for the opposite side of a table for example, or to fit underneath a window etc. The Benches come natural (with treatment mentioned below) however are suitable for staining / oiling / waxing etc. Any pictures on our page of coloured / stained items or benches with cushions on have been done by the customer after receiving our items. We do not currently offer staining or Cushions at the moment. PLEASE NOTE- There is an option on the drop down menu to add LINED backs meaning that the full back of the bench would be covered with wood for protection from the elements for anything being stored there if required. UNLINED backs mean that the backs of the benches will not have the additional slats added to the backs of the benches & therefore will be open at the bottom of the backs of the seats . This is generally deisgned for going against interior walls if you dont mind this where the backs of the benches are unseen & any products stored within will be on a safe floor inside. Please see photos for example of unlined backs. We have updated our design recently to include a slatted (gapped) base inside the benches to avoid placing items directly on floor/ground surface. Feet can be added if required. Please contact us if so. Hinges are affixed on top of the seated area & therefore can be seen (but easily covered by cushions) . Lift-off storage option as an alternative is also available by contacting us. We offer a varierty of standard sizes of bench on our listings however, custom sizes are certainly available on request by contacting us. These benches are made from new tanalised pre-treated timber suitable for both indoors & outdoors. The wood being tanalised means that it has a treatment within it deisgned to prevent rot, fungus, mould etc. & protects against the elements as it is also designed to be used for other things such as fencing etc. too. There may be a slight tinge to the wood when you first receive it as some wood seems to show the colour of the treatment more than others. This will settle & fade over time to become a more neutral & mellow colour. It can be treated similarly to other wooden products with woodstain/ oil etc. that are aimed at for exterior timber products. We always strive to use FSC certified timber wherever possible. SIZES: The width options in the drop down menus are the measurements of back (longest point of both sides) - therefore are EXTERNAL measurements. Choices currently are 150 x 90cm, 150 x 120cm , 150 x 150 & 150 x 180cm however these can be customised & made larger / smaller also as mentioned. Height to seat: approx. 50cm Height to top of back: approx. 90cm Depth of seat approx. 45.5cm (please let us know if you require specific sizes for cushions etc as slight variations can occur) Orientation of the benches can be made either way - i.e short side on left or right. Benches are generally delivered in 2 pieces & are designed to be very simple to join together with only a few screws needing tightened once in place, (video can be sent after ordering if required). Despite the pre-treatment within the wood, we recommend that if keeping outdoors, treatment is required to maintain quality through time just as you would with any outdoor wooden furniture etc. in adverse conditions or prolonged periods, a breathable cover is also advised. The bench will maintain a slight rustic effect , & although sanded, will not have a
