My hand-drawn map centers on the San Diego Bay, Waterfront, Balboa Park, Hillcrest, extending east to Normal Heights & north just shy of Mission Bay. Home of the Tipai-Ipai indigenous people, the geographic site of San Diego was claimed for Spain in 1542 & was ceded to the United States after the Mexican American War in 1842. Town building throughout the late nineteenth century accelerated with the arrival of the railroad. in the twentieth century, the city became a hub for aeronautics, military & defense. Tourism is high, thanks to a sunny climate, beaches to the west & mountains to the east. Colonial architecture & urban parks infuse the city with life. This is a PRINT of my original hand-drawn black ink line drawing. If you'd prefer a square print, just purchase the size that matches the width you'd like, leave a note at checkout to make it square & I will make it square!
