Ercol Chairmakers Rocking Chair Oak on Ash

As inspiration for the Chairmakers Rocking Chair, founder Lucian Ercolani looked to the traditional craft of the Chiltern Hills and those areas surrounding his first factory in High Wycombe.

Lovingly crafted to capture that same passion and quality of the original designs, to this day each chair is made within the company's British headquarters by expert craftsmen using only the highest quality hardwoods.

The smooth, oyster shaped seat made from elm features subtle curved indentation along the top to provide a comfortable sit that seamlessly integrates the visible hammer-shaft joints.

A double bow back, central slat and curved arm rests are intersected by eight traditionally turned beech spindles that securely wedge into the frame before joining to the gently arched top bar.

Resting on four splayed and tapered legs with curved supporting bars, two bowed rockers create a gentle motion synonymous with classic British furniture.
