Internal mounting: As seen in the listing photo, the base of the light is solid, without any visible mounting holes. If we make it this way, the light will mount by a short threaded bolt that comes out from the back (it is attached to the electrical socket) & extends approximately 3/16 from the back of the light. This bolt screws into a threaded hole in the mounting bracket, which we supply. The bracket attaches to your electrical junction. First your electrician would mount the bracket, attach the electrical wires, then screw the fixture into the mounting bracket's threaded hole. This method does twist the wiring somewhat, but after just a few turns, the light should, in most cases, be flush to the ceiling or wall. 2. External mounting: The other way the light can be mounted is with external mounting hardware. Two small holes can be pre-drilled into the fixture on either side of the copper tube that covers the electrical socket. Two mounting bolts with small finished decorative caps are sent along with your fixture, as well as a special mounting bracket that is threaded to receive the two mounting bolts. Your electrician would mount the bracket to the junction, thread the bolts into the bracket, wire the light & place the copper over the mounting bolts, then attach the caps. External method is required for UL listed lights. in some situations, depending on your building's electrical wiring & local building codes, the second method may be the necessary way to mount the fixture. We are happy to build them either way for you, just let us know what you need.
