Tunisian Crocheted Baby Afghan This wonderfully warm baby afghan was crocheted using Tunisian crochet or afghan stitch to create a blanket which provides warmth on the coldest days or nights using a beautiful cream colored yarn. Off-white in color, this afghan compliments any outfit or home decor in the nursery Tunisian crochet is often described as a mixture of knitting & crochet. Using a unique longer hook with a stopper on one end, each stitch of the row is picked up on the hook before working off the loops on a second pass. Each stitch is shaped like a little square of two horizontal strands of yarn with a vertical bar on top of them. The resulting stitches in this Tunisian crochet baby afghan are thicker than an average crochet stitch providing density for a thermal effect to keep any child snug. Being crocheted using 100% Acrylic yarn, allows this Tunisian crochet baby blanket to be both machine washed & dried for quick turnaround when needed which often happens with babies.
