The trees' leaves are patiently heat-blued to bring out steel's own delicate colors: blues & purples. When complete, the piece is 100% immersed in lacquer just like all of Oak & Anvil Works' pieces, to preserve the steel from rust & discoloration. Because of the piece's high degree of polish & shine, it catches & reflects light in patterns that seem to shimmer as a person moves by the piece.
