This beautiful one off unique handmade milking stool is made from 100% reclaimed timber. Not only used as stools, they can also be used as small coffee or tea tables, plant stands, bedside tables, in the bathroom or as lamp stands. Every stool is unique due to the characteristics of the wood & I follow the variations & undulations of the grain & original wear of the wood in order to give the feel & look of an original stool. The colour of the woods do vary, some being light or dark & some having a variation of the two. They all have variations in grain, splits & knotting & so, due to these characteristic markings, help make each stool unique. I particularly like this one as inadvertently, the seat turned out to look a bit like a dogs face with the leg ends being the eyes & nose & the metal bracing pin being the mouth All of the stools are hand made & I do genuinely love making them. It is a pleasure & great sense of satisfaction to make something beautiful out of wood that is often over 120 years old. Once they are made, I hand sand & shape the seats & legs, then hand polished with beeswax in order to give the stool an original beautifully aged look & feel.
