Slimline Handmade Wood Pen Tamboti With Gold Hardware

This unique hand turned Slimline style pen does not follow one of my signature profile designs but was created during the turning process itself. I consider myself both a woodworker & an artist. I embrace creativity & let that drive this Gallery style pen. The pictured Slimline pen is a one-of-a-kind. By using the Slimline style pen with a smaller barrel than the Cuban, I have more material to work, & this allows me to get more creative with my designs. Tamboti is a pleasure to work with, & I love the color; not too dark but not too light. The grain is a bit subtle but gorgeous. I appreciate how the gold hardware gives it a soft & elegant look. I find this pen to be a wonderful balance of showing what can be created by turning a wooden pen, but yet not in a distracting manner. I personally handcraft every pen, with both function & beauty driving the design. I choose the wood for its uniqueness & natural beauty. I carefully inspect each piece of wood, & if it does not catch my eye, I don't turn it. After turning & shaping the wood on the lathe, I go through an extra sanding process to achieve a naturally glossy finish. I continue beyond the typical 600 grit process & use a progression of fine micro mesh for a natural shine. I then apply a finish that is both wear & water resistant but still maintains a natural feel. Pens are carefully assembled & again checked for fit, finish, & function. This pen is handmade in Maine, USA. It is ready to ship, as it is the actual one shown. The pen has a twist mechanism & comes with a Cross Style black ink cartridge.
