HOW IT IS MADE: The industry processes wool in huge quantities & uses technological advances for that. They wash wool with harsh & efficient detergents. Here machines as human hands work which can't have contact with these agents. Carbonizing, bleaching, polymer coating, & other conventional wool processing methods. The way it passes damages the wool fiber & loses a major part of its unique features. Our products use wool untreated by chemicals, just washed using natural soap. The chosen method of processing is much heavier but it ensures high quality & is environment friendly. Naturally washed wool preserves the lanolin, which helps to ensure its softness & waviness. Wool is not only the least vulnerable but also is pleasant to cuddle up with. It's time & physical strength-consuming work. But the easier way - to buy industrially processed wool is not pointed in our plans. in another way, the idea of sharing truthful wishes from the countryside would lose its meaning. CARE: As we do not use any chemicals to process our wool, it is not machine washable. Small, barbed scales cover the surface of wool fibers. When wool is machine-washed & dried, these scales can become interlocked, causing the wool to come into felt & shrink. To prevent the felting of wool & to make wool washable in normal household washing machines, several methods in industry have been developed. The most popular one is to treat the barbed scales with chlorine, then, apply a thin polymer coating. This makes wool fibers smooth & allows them to slide against each other without interlocking. But since washable wool is coated with plastic, can we consider it a natural & healthy fiber? Dry cleaning is the way to clean a wool-filled pillow. in between the dry cleaning, a good shake in open air is adequate.
