This piece was made with the intent of imitating the beauty of stained glass murals found in churches & cathedrals. It has a design similar to the Cross of Jerusalem, with four distinct panels of smaller crosses which surround the darker, more robust symbol which dominates the middle. Into the sturdy pine wood has been burned each line for each individual cross. Turquoise paint covers four panels to denote what is meant to resemble stained glass, while the remainder of the piece has been coated with a rich English chestnut stain. The front shelf of the piece is forged from reclaimed wood. A semi-gloss poly helps to preserve the whole item & protect it from the elements. Originally meant to be a stand placed as an artistic piece on a mantle or accent table, this item will also be fitted with a saw-tooth hanger at its back that will allow for it to be hung on a wall as a sconce. It's perfect for an entryway, sitting room bedroom, office or any other area in need of a novel, spiritual touch that harkens back to more traditional decor.
