I have collected many antique & new textiles, mostly from France, which I design & make into unique & luxurious room decor pillows. I use only the highest quality fabrics, trims, linings, thread, buttons, & anything necessary to produce the highest quality item for your home. This pillow is one in my collection of antique French chateaux wall tapestry fragments. This tapestry fragment dates from the early 1700s to early 1800s. This pillow has a center fragment of approx. 7 x 7 made from linen warp with silk & wool weft design. The design depicts dark blue & teal flowers, possibly morning glories, flanked with tan & green stems & leaves. There are also golden brown, tan & red flowers at the bottom of the design. The tapestry is tightly woven & reveals its linen warp, typical of antique tapestries, but has no holes. This is a beautiful piece of antique textile art ! Framing the tapestry I stitched new flat jacquard trim with brown & gold paisley patterns. Both tapestry & trim are stitched for stability onto new designer fabric in golden bronze diamond & dot jacquard pattern. I stabilize all of my antique textiles for today's decor use. All around the pillow is fancy bobble trim in coordinating shades of bronze, tan & sage. The pillow back is a new piece of poly faux slub silk in elegant soft gold. One of a kind pillow.
