This unique, original & signed painting is an alternative to hard & cold picture frames that surrounds us everyday. The leaves you see in the pictures are hand dyed with a technique called Batik on a 55 x 43 cm (21,5 x 17 inches) 100% silk canvas on a hidden wooden frame. The composition has light brown, honey & green colors on a beige background. Batik uses wax to isolate parts of the fabric while dye others with color. When dye slips between wax crackles it produces very fine lines of color, very characteristic of the technique. The process is usually repeated over & over to layer colors & produce unique patterns. Washing-off the wax from the fabric is difficult, sensitive & time consuming but rewarding once the vibrant & shiny colors are revealed on the clean fabric. The colors on the painting are really shiny & vibrant while the silk gives a soft & warm feeling which unfortunately cannot be captured with a picture. The painting is ready to be hang.
