One of my keepsake boxes will enhance the beauty of any space, from mantel to dresser. Whether you are looking for a unique gift for a friend or loved one, or treating yourself to something special, this sea turtle box is for you. As such a unique item, it is bound to draw the delight & fascination of family & friends. The sculpted wooden box pictured above, made from walnut, hickory & ebony woods, is handmade with love in New Jersey, USA. After the cutting & gluing process I wood burned an ocean scene on the front of the box. Next, I sanded the exterior surfaces of the box & drawer extremely smooth, coated them with several coats of spray lacquer (sanding after each), & buffed them with a finishing wax to produce a luxuriously sleek feel that just begs to be caressed. This process helps to really bring out the brilliance of the wood within. No colors - stains or dyes - were used in making this product. The interior of the box & drawer are lined with black Suede-Tex velvet fiber to add to this box's sophistication & to help protect personal items stored within. The bottom drawer has an ebony pull & is large enough to hold small bracelets, earrings & rings. The top drawer has a hickory pull & is pretty small but can accommodate small earrings & a small ring or two. This box lets the imagination run free. Just looking at it will transport you. Suddenly you find yourself snorkeling Under the Sea while visiting a beautiful sunny white sand beach. Imagine swimming in crystal clear blue waters along a coral reef full of vibrant plant & animal life. Then, in the distance, you just happen to be lucky enough to notice a sea turtle lazily swimming toward the beach. This is the scene the woodburning on the box imparts to the viewer.
