Handcrafted metal rose - a unique handmade 6th anniversary gift for her. Made of thick piece of rebar it's stem varies in diameter. We left an untreated part of the steel rebar intentionally. Given as a present it embodies power of love which turns lifeless piece of steel into the beautiful flower. The hand forged surface of the rose has authentic hammer marks & fire-forging texture. This gives additional light-reflecting surfaces & edges to catch the eye. To add some elegance, we complimented the rose with light touches of gold patina. Its color & texture is very close to the natural iron look. It gives additional gloss to the rose & prevents corrosion at the same time. BLACKSMITHING Due to the nature of hand forging the texture of individual pieces vary slightly. It does not affect in any way the strength & quality of the item. Due to the nature of the natural iron steel even being varnished it contains a tiny amount of water moleculas. This means that after a while the item can become a bit darker & get very light brown tone. When the product is shipped by the air shipping method this process can be speeded up. It is normal for traditionally forged steel items & our shop doesn't consider it as a defect since it doesn't influence the strength & quality of the items.
