Wine barrels are used to store wine for a long time. When they are used up after three to five years, the oak red wine barrels come to our workshop to be refurbished into individual pieces of furniture. in this case, we are making a coffee table with a wooden lid in a white vintage or used look. There is plenty of storage space inside, which can be accessed through the removable oak wooden lid. The intensely red-coloured wood also gives off a little red wine smell for a few days. This makes the coffee table an authentic piece of furniture both inside & out, thanks to typical scratches, red wine stains & dents, which gives any room a cosy atmosphere. At the beginning of production, we sand the barrel wood & rings. This removes coarse dirt & splinters & eliminates the risk of injury. To ensure stability, we clamp the staves together & screw the rings onto the barrel. As wood is a natural product, fine gaps can still form between the staves. The lid & barrel are glazed with white paint for a special look. This is then lightly sanded down again - this creates the slightly worn vintage look. The finished product is similar to the picture. Due to the individual barrel properties & grain when sanded, each table is unique.
