A 101 Year Old California Olive Naturally Heart Shaped Branch - Natural Rustic Wood Ornament By Tanja Sova

This piece is more of an altar rather than just a piece of wood & I do hope it finds home where it really belongs, to whisper secrets held in its grains, secrets hundred years worth of keeping. I have kept one for myself, & I do hope that this lovely heart will find a home where it truly belongs. When I first receive a block of the Olive from the place in California, it was as if I have met someone I knew long ago. Feeling was beyond any reason, but I would not stop my tears & the feeling of it's been too long since we hugged.... I asked a person who sent the block if he knew the story behind, for it is rather unusual the intensity of the emotions I felt. He sent me this information: Mission Olive planted in 1904, California hillside outside of Visalia. The trees were neglected & stressed for many, many years & survived on rain water, giving them the beautiful grain pattern. The hillside was being developed & I was able to remove the trees for storage in 2005. When another block was sent, I realize I could not do ANYTHING else other than honor its natural shape. I did my best to preserve it as much as possible. It is 8.5 by 7 in size.
