Our wine barrel furniture is made from real used wine barrels. Before we prepared them, they were used for storing red wine for several years, after which they are used up. This gives them an intensely red interior that still smells slightly of red wine. The smell disappears within a few days. From the outside, you can still see characteristic traces of storage in the chateus, such as scratches, red wine stains & dents. We consciously try to retain precisely these characteristics so that each coffee table tells its own individual story. The coffee table offers plenty of storage space & work surface: the cutouts with shelves in the lower area, the middle shelf & the removable lid as a third surface. This makes it a practical piece of furniture that does not lose its authentic appearance despite its many functions. To transform the used wine barrel into a finished coffee table, the barrel is first completely sanded down. This removes coarse dirt & splinters. The wood also changes after processing, as it continues to work & dry out. This can lead to slight gaps forming between the staves. To ensure that everything remains stable & that these changes do not affect the table, the individual staves are clamped together & the rings are then screwed to the barrel. The shelves, which serve as storage space, are made of robust, high-quality oak, just like the barrel.
