The table was made from oak wood from sustainable forestry in the Berlin/Brandenburg region. The trunk of the very old tree was naturally air-dried for years. During the drying process, very large forces are present in the wood, which creates the unique structure & drying cracks. The trunk was then sawn into planks, which were then planed flat. The drying cracks were then painstakingly filled with black-colored epoxy resin & then finely sanded in several passes. For the perfect finish, the tree slice was treated with food-safe hard wax oil in 3 passes, which makes it easy to care for & gives it a natural feel.
