Yeats was also a founder member of the famous Abbey Theatre in Dublin in 1899. He was awarded the Nobel prize for Literature in 1923. Yeats died in Menton in the South of France in 1939 & was buried in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. in 1948 his body was taken back to Drumcliffe in County Sligo where he now lies under the shadow of Ben Bulben.
