A beautiful & unique piece of fiber art for your home or working place: an original noil silk fabric with botanical organic ecoprint, hand made & hand dyed with fresh plants by myself in my studio in the South of France: for a wall hanging with a woodland atmosphere, a contemplation of nature, leaves, trees & life ;) Length: 140 cm / 55 inches Width: 100 cm / 39 inches This fabric is made of noil silk: an opulent fabric with a great texture resembling soft washed linen & wonderfully drape, bringing nature to your home or your therapy room. Printing is done entirely by hand, with the invaluable assistance of Nature, by ecoprint - direct printing - of natural fresh leaves - from oaks, maples, rosebush, eucalyptus, fig tree... I collect these leaves in nature, in small quantities. They are all used & then returned to nature. This is an environmentally friendly process without added chemicals, you just allow time for the natural magic act - & a touch of know-how ;) The colors are unique & full of nuances & vary with the play of light on silk: they go from almost black, warm brown, gray, orange, golden yellow & soft green. The pictures are all made in natural light. The fabric has been folded in the dyeing process & many interesting shapes appear in the pleats, like a Rorschach test, triggering contemplation: can you see a face? a human? an animal?... It is an appeasing process to watch organic shapes & let one's imagination flow :) This is an original textile art in its patterns & colors, impossible to reproduce. It will be sent with a card explaining its artisan making.
