Woods Furniture

Woods Furniture is an independent, family-run retailer based in Dorchester, Dorset. George Wood founded the business in 1875 as Woods Domestic Stores on High East Street, selling household essentials before moving into furniture and home furnishings. A major showroom refurbishment in 2011 gave the Dorchester store a more contemporary look, and Woods at Brewery Square opened in 2016. More than 150 years on, the focus retailer's focus is still on quality, value and personal service.

Today, Woods Furniture has three showrooms across Dorchester and Bournemouth. The collections suit both traditional and modern homes, with established furniture brands sitting alongside the retailer’s own ranges. The emphasis throughout is on well-made pieces that reflect how people live now.

Living room and dining room furniture are central to the Woods Furniture collection. Its living room range includes sofas, corner sofas, armchairs, recliners, coffee tables, TV units and sideboards. Brands such as Ercol, Parker Knoll and Stressless offer a mixture of classic and contemporary designs. Dining furniture includes dining tables, dining chairs, benches and coordinated sets, with options ranging from traditional wood to industrial-inspired finishes.

Woods Furniture also offers bedroom furniture, garden furniture and home accessories for different areas of the home. The bedroom range covers beds, mattresses, wardrobes, bedside tables and chests of drawers in both traditional and contemporary styles. Garden dining sets and outdoor lounge furniture extend the range into outdoor living. Mirrors, lighting and decorative accessories complement its furniture collections, providing finishing touches for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.
