Maintain Your Wellbeing While Working From Home

Maintain Your Wellbeing While Working From Home

It’s National Work Life Week, and since many of us are back working from home, it’s really important to ensure we maintain our wellbeing as we spend even more time in our own four walls.

Here are some easy ways to improve your home office to ensure you maintain your wellbeing while working from home.

Sitting on the sofa with your laptop on a dinner tray is okay for a week or so, but long term it’s not ideal, so get yourself a decent desk to sit at. If you can, set yourself up by a window even if you don’t have much of a view; being able to look away from your screen and reset your eyes to a longer distance can make a huge difference and could help prevent headaches.

Another reason to sit by a window is for the natural light, which boosts our mood and productivity. Unfortunately, we can’t all sit by the window, and with the nights getting darker much earlier, especially if you work in the evening, a decent table lamp that can be angled, such as this hood desk lamp, is an absolute treat.

They say “tidy home, tidy mind” and that couldn’t be more true than for your office space. A build-up of clutter on your desk can create unnecessary stress, and shelves are a great way to alleviate the mess. So why not get organised with this wall shelf; stylish and functional!

Art can be incredibly powerful, and as it’s subjective, everyone will have their own view on what calming art looks like to them. For many of us, our desire to be near nature (also known as biophilia, click here to find out more) make these types of art the most calming to look at.

Remember being told to stop slouching by your old teachers at school? Well, they were spot on. Bad posture causes a multitude of problems, so if you’re going to working from home more long-term, getting an ergonomic chair will be worth every penny, like this Baron deluxe chair with headrest.

Rugs are another way to add a pop of colour into your office space. The colour green is thought to be a peaceful and calming colour as it reminds us of nature and also mixes well with a lot of other colours. We love this rug in particular, as it truly helps to bring the outside, in.

We hope this helps to spark some creativity on how you can freshen up your office space and help improve your wellbeing while you work from home. To browse all our categories, just click here.
