The entrance is perfectly designed to create an opulent impression. It’s matched by functionality with a well-designed double-height hanging space as well as with shoe storage. There’s a unique wallpaper mural from Graham & Brown depicting a heritage property feel.

Kitchen

The kitchen had been opened by knocking out the wall that divided the kitchen and dining area. Alana didn’t want any wall-hung storage, so she opened up the overhead space and implemented a bespoke extractor fan for the cooking area and a waterfall kitchen island for food preparation and entertaining. The kitchen has beautiful wooden worktops, but Alana explains that they can be hard work to maintain and that she wouldn’t go for them if she were doing her kitchen again. The hand-blown stained glass kitchen lights with tassels by Rothschild & Bickers create an amazing Chinoiserie design.

Dining Area

A dark and moody feel with unique artwork and the ‘5th wall’ on the ceiling. Alana has a classical artwork wallpaper above the dining table from Rebel Walls that creates a 'wow' moment when you enter the room. Built-in alcove units create extra storage, and the most important element of the room is the built-in coffee-making area. The dining table is an extendable unit for group entertaining from Transformer Table, which also contains storage units.

Snug

The snug has a cocooning and cosy feel that makes you want to curl up and read a book in peace and quiet. The fireplace is a piece from Thomas Jeckyll that Alana found in a reclamation yard. Alana has candles all over her home and, in particular, in her snug. She’s been dubbed ‘The Queen of Candles’ on social media. The wall panelling is Graham & Brown. Its metallic finish creates a glow in the evening when it’s met with the Sun.

Kid's Bedroom

This is one of Alana’s favourite rooms. The wallpaper instantly catches your eye. It’s a tapestry-style finish from Belarte Studio and creates a homely feel to the room for her young children. The fireplace was sourced from Facebook Marketplace for only £10!

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is very much about colour balance. It has dark blue on the walls, with the ceiling and skirting boards painted in white to strike a light balance and create the perception of space. Alana also uses gold on her mirror and pops of mustard colour with her cushions & throws to bring about a warmer feel in the room. The bed was another Facebook Marketplace find. It is an old French-style bed that Alana bought for £50 and restored to almost brand new. The Narnia wardrobe is a highlight of the room. It creates a vintage-style character, and the crack in the mirror only adds to its charm.

As you can see, Alana’s home is full of character, with rich colours, vintage finds and bold design choices throughout. By restoring the original features of her Edwardian home while adding her own distinctive style, Alana has created a truly unique space that feels both timeless and completely her own.
