Gustavian Dark Chest of Drawers

Designed in Sussex by French Bedroom's design team, the Gustavian collection pays tribute to the kinship and visual dialogue between French and Swedish furniture designs.The collection offers new classics for the discerning eye; the warm rich tones of the pieces bring a grounded aesthetic, with a focus on quiet luxury. Influenced by French culture and tradition, King Gustav III paid tribute to his time travelling to combine Swedish style with French neoclassicism. Characterised by architectural form and symmetry, and adorned with columns and detailed carvings, our Gustavian collection pays tribute to the kinship that exists between French and Swedish furniture design. The Gustavian Chest of Drawers features three large drawers, decorated with horizontal fluting and stepped corner detailing.The drawers are each decorated with two gold metal drawer pulls, alongside a central decorative escutcheon plate. The top of the drawers features a chamfered edge and hand-carved pearl beading.The chest is made from solid ash wood with the addition of a dark stain for a sense of elevated styling. No detail has been spared in the design of this timeless piece of furniture.
