The Valance can be hung with clips or slid onto a rod/pole or tension bar of max diameter 1. If you would like a ruched effect (as shown in some of the pictures) the valance needs to be wider than the pole. To measure for your valance, decide how far down the window you would like it to fall. This is the LENGTH/DROP measurement. Next, measure the rod from end to end. This is the WIDTH measurement. If you would like a ruched (pleated) look. Add ExTRA to the WIDTH. For example, for a 24 rod, you would need at least a 36 WIDTH valance to give a ruched look.
