Each set combines an outdoor-rated string-light cable with individual woven bamboo basket shades, creating a striking hanging lighting feature for patios, gardens, terraces, pergolas, trees, restaurants, cafs & outdoor entertaining spaces. The shades are inspired by traditional Thai fishing baskets & individually woven by hand. Their open bamboo construction allows light to shine through the weave, creating a warm patterned glow while giving the string lights a much more substantial, sculptural look than conventional outdoor festoon lighting. Available in 5m, 10m & 15m lengths with approximately three hanging bamboo pendants per metre. OPTIONS 5 Metre Set - Approx. 16ft cable with 15 handwoven bamboo pendant shades. 10 Metre Set - Approx. 32ft cable with 30 handwoven bamboo pendant shades. 15 Metre Set - Approx. 48ft cable with 45 handwoven bamboo pendant shades. Each set includes approximately three bulb sockets & bamboo shades per metre, with roughly 30-35cm / 12-14in between lights. Choose the appropriate plug type for your country when ordering. Please note that each cable is an individual string & the sets do not connect end-to-end. For example, two 15m sets cannot be connected together to create a single 30m cable. TRADITIONAL THAI CRAFT The bamboo shades are inspired by traditional fishing baskets found throughout Thailand & Southeast Asia. These ingenious baskets have been woven from strips of natural bamboo for generations, creating a lightweight & flexible structure without requiring a conventional rigid frame. Every shade is individually handmade, so natural variations in the bamboo, weave & shape give each piece its own character. OUTDOOR USE The electrical string-light cable is weatherproof & designed for outdoor use. The bamboo shades themselves are made from natural bamboo. They can be used outdoors, but if the lights will remain permanently exposed to rain or other harsh weather, we recommend applying a suitable clear outdoor wood sealant. Without additional protection, prolonged exposure to the elements can naturally darken the bamboo shade over time. SIZE & SPACING Each bamboo shade measures approximately: Height - 38-45cm / 15-18in Diameter - 18-23cm / 7-9in Shade spacing - approx. 30-35cm / 12-14in Approximately 3 shades / bulb sockets per metre of cable. As every bamboo basket is handmade, dimensions may vary slightly. BUlbS Bulbs are not included. The fittings accept S14 bulbs with an E26 or E27 thread, a commonly available style of outdoor string-light bulb. Warm white or vintage-style LED bulbs work particularly well with the natural bamboo & create the soft atmospheric effect shown in our photographs. HANDMADE CHARACTER Bamboo is a natural material & every shade is individually woven by hand. Small variations in colour, weave, dimensions & shape are a natural part of the handmade process rather than imperfections. The bamboo baskets may be flattened for shipping.
