The blue & white decorations are each carefully made by me in my garden studio in the coastal town of Ramsgate, U.K. They are formed from terracotta clay which, once cut & modelled into shape, are carefully smoothed to soften & round the edges as if it had been worn down by the action of the sea. After being left to dry thoroughly, they are bisque fired & glazed with a traditional majolica-style Tin white glaze & hand painted with of blue Cobalt Oxide. They then head back to the kiln for a second firing. Every Shoreline Ceramics item is made to be unique & is carefully hand crafted. Glaze density, depth of colour, pattern & design may well vary from piece ot piece.
