The Legend of the Christmas Spider 'A poor but hardworking widow once lived in a small hut with her children. One summer day, a pine cone fell on the earthen floor of the hut & took root. The widow's children cared for the tree, excited at the prospect of having a Christmas tree by winter. The tree grew, but when Christmas Eve arrived, they could not afford to decorate it. The children sadly went to bed & fell asleep. Early the next morning, they woke up & saw the tree covered with cobwebs. When they opened the windows, the first rays of sunlight touched the webs & turned them into gold & silver. The widow & her children were overjoyed. From then on, they never lived in poverty again. Since then it has become traditional to hang tinsel on Christmas trees & to have a spider amongst the decorations to bring good luck' Each spider is made from metal, acrylic & glass beads - available in multiple colours (but other colours may be available on request by custom order) Colour selection denotes the colour of the spider 'knees' - each spider is handmade. Each spider measures 7cms/2.5inches across. Your special lucky Christmas spider will come with a printed copy of the story.
