Give this Christmas a breath of fresh air & a touch of rustic Scandinavian style with this pretty stocking ornament to hang your tree or maybe even use as a special gift tag. The blue & white decorations are made in my garden studio in the coastal town of Ramsgate, U.K. They are formed from terracotta clay which, once cut & modelled into shape, are carefully smoothed to soften & round the edges as if, perhaps, it had been worn down by the action of the sea. After being left to dry thoroughly, they are bisque fired & glazed with a traditional majolica-style Tin white glaze & hand painted with of blue Cobalt Oxide. They then head back to the kiln for a second firing. The finished decorations are attached to a gold thread loop which makes them easy as pie to hang on a branch of your tree or from a hook or nail on a wall. Every Shoreline Ceramics item is made to be unique & is carefully hand crafted. Glaze density, depth of colour, pattern & design may well vary from piece to piece.
