Octopus wall lamp 37 32 cm plug-in or hard-wired E14 bulb (not included) This is an octopus that keeps watch over a bed, eight arms curled, eyes already half-closed. Cut from FSC-certified birch plywood & lit from behind, it gives off just enough glow to turn shapes back into furniture & shadows back into clothes on a chair. Hundreds of small holes are cut clean through the arms, so the wall behind it is filled with a scatter of light the room gets its own shallow sea after dark. It is held in place by two screws & the drilling template comes in the box, so the octopus is on the wall about ten minutes after it arrives. The cord is 200 cm long, with a switch & a plug you choose for your country, & it is placed so that it is easy to reach. It matters, at three years old, to be in charge of the light. The paint is water-based & certified, chosen the way you choose things for a room where someone very small breathes all night. Switched off, it stays a navy silhouette on the wall: decoration first, light second. Children grow out of night lights. Nobody has told the octopus.
